Local Businesses Meet at Touristic Product Development Workshop
A Touristic Product Development Workshop has been organised by SECOND Project, on 13 November 2012, at 10.00 at Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, with respect to the Nicosia Downtown Initiative.
The workshop took place under the support of the Nicosia Downtown Initiative working group, Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry, Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Artisans and Shopkeepers, producers, local shopkeepers and KOBIGEM.
The workshop started with the opening speaches of SECOND Project Team Leader Faik Özgermi, KOBIGEM Coordinator Ebru K. Sertoğlu, Chamber of Industry (CTCI) President Ali Cirali and Chamber of Artisans and Shopkeepers (TCCSA) President Hurrem Tulga.
In Session 1- Presentations were made by Cyprus Turkish Chamber of Industry Secretary General Doğa Dönmezer and Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Artisans and Shopkeepers Programme Development Officer Ersun Aytaç on ‘Local Products with touristic sales value and packaging options’. Additionally SECOND Project SME Expert Niyal Öztürk presented ‘What do tourists want? What is the opinion of local businesses? - Results of Nicosia Downtown Business and Visitor Surveys’ .
In the second session ‘Previous problems in tourisitic product sales’ and ‘Suggestions on Product, Packaging ve Design ’ were discussed with local producers, shopkeepers and representatives from NGO's and public offices.
